On Wednesday of the week you post your initial discussion. Your initial post should be at least 500-750 words in length. Your post must demonstrating critical thinking, synthesis, and comprehension of the concepts and theory presented in the course weekly reading. You must include at least one peer-reviewed citation in each paragraph. This assignment requires at least three high quality peer-reviewed sources as references. The more high quality peer-reviewed citations you have helps strengthen your position on each point you make.
The discussion board assignment is worth 50 points. By Sunday of the week you must submit two peer posts. These posts have a required 250-500 word count. You must include in-text citation and biblical integration in all posts. All posts must strictly comply with APA style standards. All sources used except the textbook required sources must be published within the past five years. Copy and paste text into the discussion board forum. You may attach your discussion after posting text to the discussion board if you wish.
In Modules/Weeks 1–8, you will participate in a Discussion Board Forum based on the specific weekly topic covered in the course textbook chapter required reading module/week.
You will discuss the topic presented and each weekly discussion on analytics. You may discuss each situation from your own current, professional experience and your own research. Each forum is completed in 2 parts: an initial thread and 2 replies to classmates’ threads. Below are the general requirements for each forum.
Note: A major theme of these lessons is how the biblical concepts in the weekly biblical textbook or the Bible can provide a solid foundation for leadership in discussion of the weekly forum topic. When you cite them, make sure you build upon that major theme and apply it to the ideas in your posts.
Thread: After reading both the required topic text chapters and the biblical integration text discuss the provided topic discussion using your own professional work experience and learning from the reading. At the post graduate level you are not to provide a summary but rather provide a critical thinking assessment of the topic. You must use at least one Biblical citation, one peer-reviewed journal article citation, one biblical integration text citation and one course primary topic textbook citation to inform you further on the topic.
Your initial thread is due on Wednesday of the module/week and must be 500–750 words (approx. 2–3 pages) with in-text citations and references. Be sure to copy and paste your text into the Discussion Board Forum. You may also attach a Word document after pasting text into the forum.
The following 4 sources must be included in your thread:
- The course primary topic textbook
- At least 1 peer-reviewed journal article
- 1 passage of Scripture
- At least 1 reference from the Biblical Integration text in each module/week in a manner that captures the essential ideas of those lessons.
You must cite all sources you used in current APA format.
Replies: Provide 2 thoughtful replies to the threads of classmates. Each reply must include an analysis of your classmates’ threads, based on any experience from your own professional career (if applicable) that might be relevant. All replies must be 250–500 words (approx. 1–2 pages). Also, be sure to integrate the required reading in a logical and relevant manner.
You must cite:
- The textbook(s)
- At least 1 peer-reviewed journal article;
- 1 passage of Scripture
Submit your thread by 11:59 p.m. (ET) on Wednesday of the assigned module/week, and submit your replies by 11:59 p.m. (ET) on Sunday of the same module/week.
The only exception for the Sunday deadline will be discussion forum 8 in the final week of class, which will end on Friday. Peer replies will be due by 11:59 p.m. (ET) on the final day of class in Module 8.
